I am happy to announce my marriage to my beautiful bride, Roxana
Palacios. June 15th was the BIG day with around 100 guests. We had
friends and family from both sides in attendance to help us celebrate,
which made it a perfect wedding.
We had a fabulous honeymoon, 18 days in Europe visiting 5 countries, UK,
Scotland, Ireland, Holland, and France. It seems like a lot in 18 days
but being so used to living out of a suitcase and getting through
congested airports, we have no regrets. Not a day went by where we
didn't get rained on except for the 5 days on the French Riviera, where
the weather was amazing! If you enjoy beautiful weather, beaches,
restaurants, nightlife, and breathtaking scenery, we highly recommend
the French Rivera!!! That is as long as you're not offended by topless
sunbathing...
We stayed in Cannes, but visited Nice and Monaco, rented a
small car and I quickly learned to drive French style, FAST!!!
We had the pleasure of attending a horse jumping event in the Port of
Monaco. What a venue for a horse jumping show, with 30 million dollar
yachts as the backdrop!
Every place we visited in Europe was truly unique and amazing!!! Our
initial motivation for our first stop was to attend the "Royal Highland
Show" in Edinburgh, Scotland. What a fantastic show! We went there
mostly to get shots at the Charolais Congress show but also got to see
other beef breeds as well as horses and smaller livestock. There were
quite a few Canadians at the show, Neil Gillies, GM for the "Canadian
Charolais Association" who was traveling with Garner Deabold, long time
promoter of Canadian Charolais. Neil gave a presentation to the Supreme
Champion Bull and I had the privilege of taking the official photograph.
Dawn Miller Wilson, owner of the famous Canadian herd "Miller Wilson
Angus" was also in attendance with her husband Lee, watching the Angus
show, and was interviewed by a local TV station. I'm not sure what the
interview was about but it just goes to show how well known and
respected Dawn is on the global market.
We had also planned to attend the Royal Show in the U.K., however
unfortunately the show had to be shut down due to heavy rains and
flooding.
I must applaud my wife, Roxana for being such a good sport, being
dragged around to stock shows on our honeymoon! |
